Personal Coaching
Do you recognise yourself in one or more of the following statements?
- You feel it’s time for a step forwards in your career or for a career switch and you don’t know how to go about getting there.
- You feel unsatisfied in your current job but you don’t know what other options you have.
- You like your job, but you feel that you do not live up to the expectations of others, or even to your own!
- You feel you lack some of the interpersonal, social, or communication skills required to perform optimally in you job (or social life).
- You would like to improve your people, management, or leadership skills.
- You have recently been put in your first management position and you’re not sure you possess the management skills required.
- You are working in a new country with people from different cultural backgrounds and you need support in adjusting.
- You feel stuck in old habits or behavioural patterns and you feel that it holds you back in reaching your (new) goals in life.
Every one faces such questions at one time or another in their life. Often it helps to talk to a good friend or a colleague to explore new points of view. If this does not provide you with answers that help you to realise your desired goals, you may benefit from talking to someone new. Someone with experience in listening, reflecting and asking unexpected questions to broaden insight and bring about movement and change. And this is where I may come in.
Personal coaching may focus on work related issues, career questions or a combination of work-career-life questions. You’re not quite sure which category your question falls into? Contact me for a free intake session to structure your thoughts and find out how you can benefit from coaching.
How does it work?An individual coaching programme will comprise of 6 to 10 coaching sessions. A session takes approximately 1.5 hours. During the first session the participant and the coach will decide upon the aim and goal of the programme. In case the coaching programme is assigned by the participant’s employer, the manager or HR officer may also be part of the intake session. This session is free of charge.
At the end of each session, coach and participant will agree on an assignment for the next session. This may be a written, observational or active assignment. It focuses on reflection and practice with new behaviour. In the middle of the programme, or more often if required, the progress of the coaching will be evaluated with the participant and the manager/HR officer.
Generally, a two-week lapse between sessions is necessary for the participant to work on the assignments and to let the awareness and change process take place. The full programme will take four to six months on average, and can include the use of the Insights Discovery Tool to enhance the process.
